Callie: Mommy, my arm is getting all dirty.
Me: It's not dirty.
Callie: But it's getting all dirty. 
pause and think
Me: oh, it's probably just because you are getting a little tan from the sun.  It's not dirty.

Callie just crawled up in bed with Nate who is still tired.
Callie: Don't worry daddy, I'll hold you.
Callie wraps her arms around him.
