This and That

Sometime in January:
Pointing to a picture of her Great Grandma, I asked Callie her name, and Callie says, "great mommy's mom."

3.10.11
Callie: Mommy, when I get big and strong, I'm going to climb trees.  I'm too little now.

3.11.11.
We watched Beauty and the Beast for the first time.  There is that scene where the Beast is saving Bell from the bad wolves and the wolves are biting and wrestling Beast, which could possibly be scary for a three and two year old, so I'm saying, "oh look, those bad wolves are being mean, but everything will be okay," hoping they don't get scared..but Callie says, "oh no, they are tearing his clothes."  And then when she sees the Beast with new clothes on, she's relieved and says, "oh, they got clean clothes, mom."

Marshmallow Plants

Just another conversation about gardening----

Callie: Daddy, I want you to grow some marshmallows in your garden.
Mommy:  Ha. What did you say, Callie?
Callie:  I want daddy to grow marshmallows.
Mommy:  Daddy can't grow marshmallows, because marshmallows are made from sugar cane and junk.
Callie: Daddy, you need to grow some sugar cane in your garden.

Honesty

Callie: What are you doing, Mommy?
Me: I'm making a new slipcover for the ottoman.
***pause***
Callie: I don't like it.

Callie's Little Garden

Callie: I want to buy some plants for a little garden!
Nate: Oh, what kind of plants do you want?
C: pink plants
N: oh, you want a little garden of pink flowers?
C: yep
N: what else do you want in your garden?
C: um, I want squash in my little garden, and corn in my little garden, and pickles in my little garden, and, um, ice in my little garden---
N: Ice? You want ice in your little garden?
C: Noooo, that would be yucky, daddy.  I want rice.
N: oh, rice.  What else do you want in your little garden?
C: um, I want apples and chicken in my little garden.

A few weird things to grow in her "little" garden, but I know she just made her daddy proud.
